Private TV station reports that internet access has been cut off in a number of Lahore neighborhoods as a result of a notification from the Punjab Ministry of Interior.
Additionally, internet service providers in major cities have been given orders to shut down the internet, and as a result, the process of doing so has begun.
On the other side, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf called for widespread protests as soon as Imran Khan, a former prime minister, was taken into custody in Islamabad, the nation’s capital.
BBC Urdu reports that Imran Khan’s recorded message from the PTI’s social media accounts, in which he urges the party’s supporters to demonstrate for genuine freedom following his imprisonment, has also been made public. Senior Tehreek-e-Insaaf members are also heard in the message. Additionally, the leaders have urged the members of their respective districts to demonstrate in public.
PTI employees are currently protesting in Lahore, the province capital, in response to this call to action. By erecting obstacles and torching tires, workers in Lahore have blocked the roadways around Zaman Park.
Hasan Niazi, Imran Khan’s designated focal point, has led demonstrators to Lahore’s Mall Road, where they threw stones at the police, forcing them to flee.
In addition, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, the deputy chairman of the Tehreek-e-Insaf, has urged workers to demonstrate against Imran Khan’s imprisonment. He stated that the detention of Chairman Imran Khan is unacceptable in a tweet. The whole country quickly flooded the streets.
According to Asad Umar, Imran Khan’s six-member group, which is led by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, will provide the action plan.
