Karachiites have to brace themselves as the Met Department has forecasted a partial heatwave in the city on Monday and Tuesday.
According to Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz, temperatures soar above 36°C over the next two days due to low air pressure in the Bay of Bengal affecting sea breezes. However, he clarified that this does not amount to a full-blown heatwave.
While the intense heat will subside after Tuesday, citizens take precautions and avoid heat exposure during peak afternoon hours when going outdoors. Stay hydrated, wear loose-fitting and light-colored cotton clothes, and limit strenuous activities.
The Met Department has warned that rural Sindh areas of Tharparkar, Umarkot, and Badin may experience light rain on September 17 as the low-pressure system moves towards Rajasthan in India.
