Despite his busy schedule as a traffic warden with the Lahore Traffic Police, Habibur Rehman has accomplished an impressive feat—he earned a Ph.D. degree while serving. Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman’s doctorate, obtained from the University of the Punjab, focuses on “Pakistan-China Relations” within the broader field of South Asian Studies.
Ammara Athar, the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Lahore, praised Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman’s commitment to education despite facing resource constraints. As a token of appreciation, she announced that he would receive a certificate of recognition.
CTO Lahore also highlighted the educational achievements of other traffic wardens. Among the 3,100 wardens, ten hold Ph.D. degrees, 150 have M.Phil degrees, and 80 possess Master’s degrees in various subjects. Additionally, some wardens have specialized degrees in fields like French Science, Molecular Biology, and English Literature. Those with M.Phil degrees receive a monthly bonus of Rs5,000, while Ph.D. holders receive Rs10,000.
