More monsoon rains are expected to fall on the country beginning on Wednesday, and the Meteorological Department has forecasted that this sequence of showers will continue until August 27. This raises the possibility of landslides in the country’s hilly regions.
Heavy rainfall is possible as monsoon winds from the Arabian Sea and westerly winds hit the upper parts of Pakistan on August 22, according to the Meteorological Department.
The Meteorological Department says that rains have been predicted in Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Murree, Guliyat, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock and Chakwal from August 23 to 27.
Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Sialkot, Narowal, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Chitral Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, and Toba Tek Singh can also anticipate both moderate and heavy precipitation.
The Department of Meteorology has forecasted rain for the 25th and 26th of August at DG Khan, Rajanpur, Zhob, Kalat, and Khuzdar. Due to the precipitation, landslides are possible in the mountainous regions. Wind and hail are potential hazards for vacationers. Damage can be done to weak infrastructures.
Due to rains, low-lying areas in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar and Lahore are likely to be flooded from August 23 to 26.
