The Government of Pakistan’s Ministry of Railways has recently announced job openings, inviting applications from suitable, qualified, and experienced professionals to serve in Pakistan Railways. These opportunities are part of the Ministry’s ongoing efforts to transform the railway sector through the integration of advanced technology and enhanced infrastructure.
The positions available are for the roles of Director (Information Technology) and Deputy Director (I.T. Infrastructure), both of which are critical to the Ministry’s vision of modernizing Pakistan Railways.
Position Details:
1. Director (Information Technology) – MP-II Scale.
- Number of Posts:1
- Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems, along with 5 years of professional experience in a relevant field, is required. –
- Alternatively, candidates with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, MBA in IT, MBA CIS, or MIS, accompanied by 7 years of experience in the relevant field, are also eligible to apply.
Age Limit:
- Maximum of 62 years
2.Deputy Director (I.T. Infrastructure) – MP-III Scale
- Number of Posts: 1
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- A Ph.D. in a relevant subject such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, CIS, or IT with 3 years of hands-on professional experience in IT Networks or IT Infrastructure is preferred.
- Alternatively, a Master’s Degree in a relevant subject with 5 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, including servers, routing, switching, and firewalls, will be considered.
Age Limit:
- Maximum of 62 years.
Additional Information:
- The recruitment will adhere to the updated MP Scales Policy, 2021, as issued by the Establishment Division, Government of Pakistan.
- Selected candidates will be offered a contract for three years, which is extendable for an additional two years based on satisfactory performance.
