Mohamed Alhammadi won the silver medal in the T34 400 meter race at the World Para Athletics Championships 2023 in Paris. This achievement marks the UAE’s first medal in the ongoing championship. It has attracted 1,300 competitors from 107 countries. Moreover, it is considered one of the most prestigious events in Paralympic athletics. The World Para Athletics Championships closely follow the Paralympic Games.
Furthermore, Alhammadi’s outstanding performance came in the T34 400-meter race, where he clinched second place. Notably, he set a new personal career best with an impressive time of 49.11 seconds. It surpass some of the world’s top runners. This feat highlights Alhammadi’s exceptional talent and dedication to his sport.
The gold medal in the T34 400-meter race was awarded to Thai athlete Chaiwat Rattana, who not only secured first place but also set a new world record. Rattana’s remarkable achievement exceeded his previous best, which he accomplished in Sharjah at the beginning of 2022.
In addition to his success in the T34 400-meter race, Alhammadi has two more races ahead of him in the championship. On Thursday, he will compete in the T34 100-meter race, followed by the T34 800-meter race on July 17.
