OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, has introduced a new feature that allows users to create custom chatbots, referred to as “GPTs,” without needing coding skills.Users can specify what they want the bot to do by talking to ChatGPT, and the system will generate the necessary code in the background.
These custom bots can perform tasks such as helping with specific problems, teaching, or automating various actions across websites and services.
OpenAI plans to launch an online chatbot store where users can find GPTs from verified builders. The company envisions users being able to make money by charging for access to their custom chatbots. This feature is available for Plus or Enterprise ChatGPT subscribers.
The announcement was made at OpenAI DevDay, the company’s first developer conference in San Francisco. OpenAI mentioned that some companies, including Amgen, Bain, and Square, are already building and using these custom chatbots internally.
Additionally, OpenAI unveiled a more powerful text-generation model called GPT-4 Turbo, which includes information up to April 2023. This model can handle larger amounts of text, equivalent to 300 pages, and is capable of accepting and generating images and audio. OpenAI has also reduced the prices of its APIs, making the cost for using its most advanced model more affordable.
