The French government has initiated a new scheme where you will be paid for repairing shoes and old clothes. According to the French news agency, more than 700,000 tons of old clothes and shoes are thrown away by citizens of France.
The scheme will start from October 2023 where people will be given 7 EUR for repairing old shoes and 10 – 25 EUR for sewing old clothes. Moreover, the government has dedicated a budget of 154 million EUR for the next 5 years.
The opportunity has been offered to all the tailors and cobblers in the country. The initiative has been taken by the government to encourage cobblers and sewing workshops along with helping them financially.
Moreover, the strategy will also reduce pollution as textile industries contribute heavenly towards environmental pollution.
