A recent report from the Citizens Police Lines Committee (CPLC) has raised concerns about the rise in street crimes in Karachi during June. The report reveals that there were a total of 7,096 reported street crimes, indicating a worrisome situation regarding public safety in the city.
One significant issue highlighted in the report is the theft of motorcycles at gunpoint, with 4,125 individuals falling victim to such incidents in various areas of Karachi. The report also notes a considerable number of cell phone thefts, with 2,179 cases reported during street crimes.
This indicates the high demand and value of mobile devices in the illegal market.The report further documents incidents of vehicle theft (158 cases) and vehicle snatching (34 cases).
