In addition, the defeat for Sri Lanka has marked a significant milestone in Sri Lanka’s Test cricket history as it is their largest margin of Test defeat on home turf. This victory has surpassed a similarly crushing defeat Sri Lanka faced against South Africa in 1993 where they lost by an innings and 208 runs.
In the first Test held in Galle, Pakistan had already set the tone for the series with a four-wicket victory over the hosts.
