The Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design (PIFD) has announced multiple job openings for various teaching positions on a contract basis. Candidates interested in pursuing a career in the fields of fashion design, textile design, fashion marketing and merchandising, furniture design and manufacture, gems and jewellery design, leather accessories and footwear design, and ceramic and glass design are invited to apply for these positions.
Job Vacancies and Qualifications
The available positions include Lecturer and Teaching Associate roles, each with specific qualifications and requirements. The Lecturer positions are offered in each department mentioned above, while the Teaching Associate positions are available for each department as well.
For the position of Lecturer, candidates must possess a first professional degree or diploma with a major in the relevant field, awarded after 16 years of education, from PIFD or any HEC recognized university or institution. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching or work experience in an educational institution.
For the Teaching Associate position, candidates must have a minimum four-year Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the relevant field from an HEC recognized university or accredited foreign university. Experience working in an educational institution is desirable for this role as well.
Application Process
Interested candidates are required to download the prescribed application form from the PIFD website and submit it along with the original bank deposit slip showing the online deposit or pay order/demand draft for the application processing fee. The fee amount is Rs. 1500 and should be deposited in favor of Pakistan Institute of Fashion and Design.
Applications must be accompanied by attested copies of domicile, educational certificates, and experience documents. The complete application package must reach the undersigned by the deadline of 10th May, 2024. Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained.
Important Information
All positions are on a contract basis initially for a period of one year. Candidates who are graduates of PIFD are encouraged to apply, as preference will be given to them on an open merit basis.
Candidates currently employed in government service must apply through the proper channel and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) along with their application documents.
Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for the test/interview process. Any form of canvassing will result in disqualification of the applicant.
No travel allowance or daily allowance will be provided for the test/interview. PIFD reserves the right to fill or not fill any of the mentioned positions and to accept or reject any application without assigning any reason.
