The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is a significant infrastructure and economic development project that aims to connect China’s western region to Pakistan’s Gwadar Port, situated on the Arabian Sea. The project was initiated in 2013 and celebrated its ten-year completion in the year mentioned.
To mark this milestone, a commemorative coin worth 100 rupees was issued, representing a symbolic tribute to the successful implementation of the CPEC project. The commemorative coin serves as a special token to remember and celebrate the achievements and cooperation between China and Pakistan in enhancing their economic ties and connectivity.
A grand ceremony was organized at the Islamabad Convention Center to commemorate the ten-year anniversary of CPEC. Both Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng were present at the event. They participated in a symbolic gesture by jointly pressing a button that signified the inauguration of the ten-year celebrations and the release of the commemorative coin and ticket.
During the ceremony, the Prime Minister also took the opportunity to honor the Chinese Vice Premier by presenting him with a commemorative coin as a memento. This gesture symbolized the strong bond and friendship between the two nations and their commitment to further strengthening economic cooperation and mutual benefits in the future.
