The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted heavy rains from March 5 to March 7. The advisory warns of possible flash floods, snow blocking roads, and landslides in different parts of the country.
The regions most likely to be affected include Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, Upper and Southern Punjab, and Balochistan. Meanwhile, most parts of the country will experience cold and dry weather.
Sindh, however, will face a severe cold wave, with temperatures expected to drop significantly compared to normal March weather. In Karachi, for example, where the average March temperature is around 19.4°C, the temperature was recorded at 11.1°C, which is 8.3°C lower than usual.
Unfortunately, heavy rainfall in Pakistan has already led to more than 30 deaths and the closure of thousands of schools. The continuous downpour since Thursday has caused significant disruptions in various parts of the country.
