The Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) successfully rescued nine Indian crew members from a stranded cargo ship, Dhuw Tajdare Harem, which was located 120 nautical miles south of Karachi.
The incident occurred on December 26, 2024, when the crew had to abandon their ship due to severe flooding. They took refuge in a life raft after the situation on the vessel became unsafe. Recognizing the urgency, the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (MRCC) in Mumbai reached out to PMSA for assistance.
In response, the PMSA immediately launched a well-coordinated rescue operation. Aircraft and vessels from PMSA, along with support from nearby ships, including the Indian Coast Guard, worked together to ensure the crew’s safe recovery. This effort highlights the spirit of international cooperation in addressing maritime emergencies.
This is the second time in three weeks that PMSA has carried out a successful rescue mission, underlining its ongoing commitment to ensuring safety at sea and protecting lives in the region.
