The goal of this initiative is to save the department billions of rupees. In fact, it’s expected to result in an initial saving of Rs. 1.8 billion. By shifting to solar power, Pakistan Railways aims to reduce its dependency on traditional energy sources, which can be costly and less environmentally friendly.
To make this transition successful, Pakistan Railways plans to collaborate with the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK). This partnership will provide the necessary expertise and support to efficiently convert the department’s facilities to solar energy.
