In December 2024, Pakistan achieved a significant milestone as its exports in the IT sector soared to a record-breaking US$ 348 million. This marked a 15% increase compared to the previous year and a notable 12% growth from the previous month.
This achievement also surpassed the average monthly export value of US$ 299 million over the past year, underscoring a consistent upward trend in IT exports for the 15th consecutive month since October 2023.
Looking at the broader picture, Pakistan’s total IT exports for the first half of the fiscal year 2025 reached US$ 1.86 billion, reflecting a robust 28% growth compared to the same period last year. This growth is particularly impressive given the challenges posed by internet connectivity issues in the country.
Despite these challenges, the IT sector has shown resilience and strong performance, contributing significantly to Pakistan’s economic landscape. The continuous growth in IT exports underscores the sector’s increasing importance and its potential to further boost Pakistan’s economy in the years ahead.
