Pakistan stock market has emerged as one of the best-performing markets globally, delivering exceptional returns both in PKR and USD terms over the past 15 years, based on research conducted by Mr. Asim Wahab, Chief Investment Officer, NBP Fund Management Limited.
The findings reveal that over the last 15 years, with an average U.S. dollar return of 9% per annum, Pakistan stock market stands out as the best relative to several other major regional markets such as Taiwan (7%), India (6%), Sri Lanka 4% and China 0%. Pakistan stock market has also significantly outpaced the MSCI Emerging Markets Index, which provided an average return of only 1% per year over the last 15 years. These results underscore that despite economic and political challenges Pakistan has faced, its businesses have shown strong performance.
