The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has introduced an expanded Fast Track passport service to make passport issuance quicker and more accessible across Pakistan.
Initially available in 21 cities, this service has now been extended to a total of 47 cities, providing faster processing to citizens nationwide. The expansion includes both large cities like Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta, as well as smaller towns and regional areas.
The newly added cities include Attock, Chakwal, Sargodha, Hafizabad, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Kohat, Swabi, and Swat, among others. Northern cities such as Abbottabad, Haripur, and parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, including Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, and Kotli, are also part of the expanded service network.
This extension of the Fast Track service is part of the government’s initiative to ensure citizens across the country have easier access to passport services.
Along with the Fast Track expansion, two NADRA mega centers in Karachi have begun operating 24/7 to cater to passport needs.
Located at Siemens Chowrangi and North Nazimabad, these centers feature multiple counters for processing, distribution, and approval of passports. The centers aim to handle high volumes of applications efficiently, with staff ready to assist applicants at all hours.
The Directorate General has also addressed the backlog of pending passport applications. According to Director General Mustafa Jamal Qazi, the backlog has now been cleared, helping to ensure that passport services will run smoothly moving forward. This development will likely reduce waiting times and improve overall service delivery for citizens applying for or renewing their passports.
