Ayesha Ayaz, a 12-year-old athlete from Pakistan, amazed people worldwide by winning three medals at the International Taekwondo Championship in Bangkok, Thailand. Ayesha, who comes from Swat, displayed incredible talent in the Under-12 category, earning one silver and two bronze medals in the 42kg class. This championship saw the participation of more than 2,200 athletes from 40 countries. Earlier this year, Ayesha had also won a gold medal at the Al-Fujria International event in Dubai, bringing her total count of international medals to seven.
Ayesha proudly represented Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the only participant from her region in Thailand. Furthermore, a team of fourteen taekwondo athletes from Pakistan was announced for the upcoming 19th Asian Games, aiming to leave a mark in the competition.
