Nida Yousaf Sheikh, a dedicated social innovator from Lahore, Pakistan, has achieved a remarkable feat by being recognized as one of the top 10 winners of the prestigious One Young World’s LEAD 2030 program. This accolade comes with a substantial $500,000 fund to support sustainable development projects.
Nida, who serves as the CEO of Tayaba Welfare International Association (TWIA) based in Lahore, was honored during the annual conference held in Belfast. She not only received this prestigious award but also delivered a keynote speech to a diverse global audience.
This achievement has placed Nida Sheikh among other exceptional young leaders hailing from more than 190 countries, all deeply committed to making a positive impact and driving significant change on a global scale. It’s worth noting that she was the sole representative from Pakistan at the conference, which saw the participation of over 4,000 young leaders from around the world.
The awarded funds will be put to good use in implementing innovative solutions, such as deploying H2O wheels, distributing hygiene kits, and establishing solar water facilities, all backed by cutting-edge blockchain technology.
“One Young World’s LEAD 2030 Challenge” is a globally respected initiative led by prominent businesses with the goal of expediting solutions to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It is driven by dynamic young leaders and is recognized as a standard for impactful, youth-led initiatives, with an acceptance rate of less than 1 percent.
