Ihsanullah, a young cricketer for Pakistan with appearances in one ODI and four T20Is, faced a setback due to an elbow injury, forcing him out of international cricket after featuring in the ODI series against New Zealand in April.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) revealed that Ihsanullah underwent surgery in Lahore during the first week of September, with a specialist flown in from England for the operation.
Subsequently, he was placed in an elbow brace for a recovery period of four weeks, under continuous medical and physiotherapeutic care. Once the brace is removed after five weeks, he will initiate rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore, aiming for a smooth recovery and return to the sport.
Similarly, Mohammad Hasnain, a right-arm pacer, endured an ankle injury during the Lanka Premier League (LPL) in August. After undergoing an MRI in England, the scans identified the need for ankle rehabilitation, which commenced on September 13 in England.
In another injury update, Pakistan’s premier pacer Naseem Shah suffered a shoulder injury during the ACC Men’s Asia Cup 2023, leading to his exclusion from the ICC World Cup 2023. Following this, Naseem underwent shoulder surgery, marking a stable post-operative recovery. He will undergo comprehensive rehabilitation under close monitoring from physiotherapists and doctors, with a follow-up scheduled in the third week of October, indicating a meticulous approach towards his recuperation.
