Electricity has been hiked by Rs 1.25 paise per unit for consumers across the country, and the increase was made in the third quarter adjustment of 2022-23.
According to the details, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved the increase of the price of electricity by 1 rupee 25 paise per unit for the third quarter adjustment of 2022-23.
The Nepra statement said that the increase will be applied to the bills of July, August, and September 2023 and will be applicable to all the customers except Lifeline customers, but not to the electricity customers.
Nepra further said that electricity companies had applied for monthly adjustments to Nepra, on which the authority had held a public hearing on May 24 at the request of the DISCOs.
It may be recalled that on June 20, CPPA and K-Electronics had filed separate applications in Nepra, to increase the price of electricity by Rs 2.5 paise per unit for the consumers of state-owned electricity companies and Rs. 1.49 paise per unit for K-Electric users. Requested.
