Yoshida and other young people have sought the help of a “smile instructor” named Keiko Kawano. Kawano teaches them exercises like stretching their lips and using mirrors to practice their smiles. These sessions are considered useful for improving their facial expressions and getting ready for job opportunities in Japan.
