The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and the Hult Prize Foundation (HPF) have joined hands to encourage and support social entrepreneurship among Pakistani youth.
During a virtual ceremony, Hazrat Bilal, the Director General of Research & Innovation at HEC, and Lori Van Dan, the Chief Executive Officer of Hult Prize Foundation, signed an agreement called the Letter of Intent (LOI).
This collaboration aims to educate young people about social entrepreneurship and provide them with a platform to tackle global challenges through innovative social enterprises that have a positive impact. It will also raise awareness about sustainable development goals (SDGs) and offer personal and leadership development opportunities for students in Pakistani universities.
The Hult Prize Foundation hosts an annual competition that seeks business ideas addressing social problems, and Pakistani students have actively participated and even won in the past.
Through this partnership, all Pakistani universities will have the opportunity to participate and learn from the experience, fostering an entrepreneurial culture in the country.
Director General Hazrat Bilal expressed excitement about this collaboration, believing it will help address social issues through enterprise development and entrepreneurship.
Lori Van Dam mentioned that Pakistan has a strong and active community in HPF’s competitions, and this collaboration will further enhance the entrepreneurial culture in the country.
The Hult Prize Foundation’s competition includes different rounds, and the winning team receives a prize money of US$1 million to turn their big idea into reality.
