Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged IT experts to come up with strategies and plans to help Pakistan reach its goal of $25 billion in IT exports within the next five years. During his speech, he acknowledged the valuable contributions of Google, not only to Pakistan but also on a global level.
The Prime Minister called on IT companies and professionals to focus on preparing the youth with modern skills. He emphasized the importance of equipping young people with the knowledge and tools they need to find good jobs, both within Pakistan and abroad, particularly in the Gulf States and other regions. By doing this, he hopes to create more employment opportunities for the younger generation.
He also stressed the importance of transitioning to a fully paperless and digital government system as a way to combat corruption and improve efficiency. He urged the creation of a comprehensive plan to make this shift happen smoothly.In addition to focusing on IT and digital governance, the Prime Minister highlighted the need to support and promote Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Pakistan.
He pointed out that both the federal and provincial governments must use their resources to help educate, train, and empower the youth, ensuring they have the skills and opportunities to contribute to the country’s economic growth. The Prime Minister’s speech was a call to action for all sectors involved, focusing on how the country can harness technology, improve governance, and create jobs for the future.
