On Wednesday, the Quetta International Airport witnessed the first landing of a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight after the completion of the main runway upgrade. The flight, PK-325 from Islamabad, successfully landed at 6:20 am as the airport became operational.
The upgraded runway now has the capacity to accommodate larger aircraft like the Boeing 777 and other passenger planes. During the flight’s landing, the airport manager and project director were present to oversee the event.
In addition to the runway upgrade, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has expanded the taxiway and apron area and installed modern flight management equipment at the Quetta airport. These modifications aim to improve flight operations and services for passengers.
This development is particularly significant for the citizens of Balochistan as it will enable them to access travel services provided by the national flag-carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), as well as other airlines during Hajj operations. The enhanced facilities will enhance convenience and efficiency for travelers in the region.
