Latif raises doubts about Shan Masood’s selection due to his recent poor form. Masood has struggled to perform, averaging just 11.07 with only 155 runs in his last 14 innings. Latif argues that if the selection committee considered the data and statistics, Masood’s poor performance would have been evident. He questions the justification for Shan’s inclusion and the decision-making process.
Regarding Hassan Ali, Latif expresses skepticism despite acknowledging his talent. With only 10 wickets in the past 12 innings and a high bowling average of 53.7, Latif questions the rationale behind Hassan’s selection. He implies that there might be more deserving candidates available.
Latif also raises concerns about Nauman Ali’s selection due to his age. While recognizing Nauman’s abilities, Latif suggests that his age might become a limiting factor in the near future.
Latif highlights Mehran Mumtaz’s impressive performance in Zimbabwe during Pakistan Shaheens’ recent tour. Mumtaz emerged as the highest wicket-taker with 15 wickets in two four-day matches. Latif believes that including Mumtaz in the squad would have been an opportunity to groom him and provide international exposure, especially considering Pakistan’s need for quality spinners.
