Samsung has done something extraordinary by sending four Galaxy S24 Ultra phones into space to take pictures of the western United States. They used special lightweight frames made of carbon fiber and attached the phones to balloons filled with hydrogen.
The phones were fixed onto 3D rigs designed specifically for this purpose. These rigs allowed the phones to take pictures from different angles and positions. The photos they captured show wide-angle shots, close-ups, and more.
The balloons were launched from four different places: Los Angeles, Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon, and the Sierra Nevada mountains. Samsung wanted to capture a variety of landscapes to see how well the Galaxy S24 Ultra could perform.
After taking the pictures, the teams released the hydrogen gas from the balloons and used parachutes to bring the rigs back to Earth slowly. Samsung kept track of where the devices were landing and managed to retrieve them successfully.
