Saudi Arabia has recently updated its rules regarding the Umrah visa for travelers visiting Mecca for pilgrimage. The new rule changes the validity period of the visa, making it more convenient for those planning to make the trip.
Previously, the Umrah visa was valid for 90 days starting from the date of entry into Saudi Arabia. Under the new rule, the visa’s 90-day validity period begins from the day it is issued. This change allows travelers more flexibility in planning their pilgrimage.
The Umrah visa is a single-entry visa, which means travelers can only enter Saudi Arabia once using this visa. Once inside the country, they can perform the Umrah pilgrimage. However, travelers must leave the country before the visa expires.
It’s important to note that an Umrah visa does not allow the visa holder to work or engage in any activities unrelated to the pilgrimage. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has emphasized the importance of following the new visa rules and avoiding misuse of the visa.
Additionally, those wishing to perform the Hajj rituals need to apply for a separate Saudi Hajj visa. The deadline for applying for Hajj 2024 visas is April 29.
