Saudi Arabia has made a significant achievement in agriculture by establishing demonstration farms in the Asir region, powered by renewed water resources from Wadi Bin Hashbal.
These farms have been recognized by the Guinness World Records as the largest in the world, covering a vast area of 3.20 million square meters, divided into two sections.
Each section is well-equipped with large concrete tanks for water storage, and automated irrigation systems ensure proper watering for all crops.
These farms also feature five air-conditioned greenhouses and use treated water for irrigation. A team of agricultural experts manages the irrigation process in multiple stages.
The farm consists of 50 fields dedicated to fruit trees and an additional 20 fields for various other crops.
It cultivates a wide variety of crops and fruits, including lemons, oranges, tangerines, pomegranates, grapes, figs, almonds, and olives. Additionally, there are experimental fields for research and development, showcasing different agricultural varieties.
This remarkable achievement highlights Saudi Arabia’s commitment to agriculture and sustainable water use.
