Saudi Arabia and Zain KSA have partnered to create the world’s inaugural zero carbon 5G network. This pioneering project, in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, prioritizes sustainable technology and ecological preservation.
The network will cover 10,810 square miles and features high speed 5G connectivity. Its power stems entirely from renewable sources, notably over 760,000 solar panels.
The initiative holds three main objectives: safeguarding the environment, lessening emissions through renewable energy, and tackling visual disruption. Moreover, the network’s towers, constructed using innovative 3D printing technology, harmonize inconspicuously with the picturesque landscape of The Red Sea.
Furthermore, Engineer Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al-Deghaither, CEO of Zain KSA, highlighted the significance of local innovation in tower construction. This endeavor bolsters the company’s path toward becoming a provider of sustainable technology, propelling both human advancement and environmental preservation.
John Pagano, Group CEO at Red Sea Global, emphasized the collaboration’s broader scope, which encompasses sustainability and environmental conservation. Their goal, driven by ambitious aspirations, supports the deployment of 5G towers within Saudi Arabia, fostering innovation and local content utilization.
