Starting this Sunday it was disclosed that the Ministry of Aviation in Pakistan has implemented a policy granting a special privilege to serving judges and their spouses at all airports in the country.
This decision was prompted by directives from the Supreme Court. In response, the director general of the Airport Security Force (ASF) issued an order in line with instructions from the aviation secretary.
According to the newly established rule, effective since October 12, the spouses of serving judges and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan are exempt from undergoing body searches at airports.
This exemption appears to be a measure aimed at providing a certain level of convenience or privilege to these specific individuals during airport security procedures.
In a separate update reported on December 16, discussions were underway with a company based in the United Arab Emirates. The purpose of these talks was to explore the possibility of installing eGates at major airports in Pakistan.
These eGates would be designed to offer self-immigration services, similar to the systems already in place in more developed countries. Essentially, this suggests a potential advancement in airport infrastructure and immigration processes in Pakistan, aligning with modern practices seen in other nations.
