The defending champions, Sri Lanka, started their Super Four campaign impressively by defeating Bangladesh by 21 runs. They bowled out Bangladesh for 236 runs with Pathirana, Theekshana, and captain Shanaka taking three wickets each.
Earlier, Sadeera Samarawickrama’s great innings of 93 runs helped Sri Lanka set a target of 257 runs in Colombo.
With this win, Sri Lanka showed they were in control of the game and earned two important points in the Super Four standings. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has faced two consecutive losses in this stage, and they’ll have to wait for another chance to compete for the title.
