According to the Indian Express, Rajesh Vishwas, 32, of Pakhanjore in Kankar district, was trying to take a selfie on the side of the dam when his phone fell into the water.

The phone, according to the report, was the Samsung S23 Alter, which costs 95,000 Indian rupees (approximately 300,000 Pakistani rupees).

According to the report, the work of transferring water from the dam began on Tuesday and was completed on Thursday, but the matter was later brought to the attention of the officers, who took action against the food inspector.

Kankar District Collector Priyanka Shukla has also confirmed the official’s punishment. They claim that the officer lacked the authority to draw water from the dam, which is why he was charged. This water was to be used by humans and animals during hot summer days.

Food Inspector Rajesh Vishwas had arrived in Pralkot for a picnic with his friends when he threw his phone into 10 feet of water while attempting to take a selfie.

He told The Indian Express that after diving for two days, some village divers searched for the phone but couldn’t find it, so he suggested taking out a few feet of water from the dam.

Rajesh Vishwas said of the phone, “I called Sub Divisional Officer Water Resources and he gave verbal orders on which I got a pump on rent for 7 thousand rupees and started drawing water.”

According to the written orders issued against Rajesh Vishwas, Vishwas abused his position by wasting a large amount of water without the permission of any responsible officer, which is unacceptable during the summer season is immediately suspended.
