According to a prominent news agency, all beauty parlors’ licenses have been revoked in Kabul municipality. Mohammad Aaqif, the spokesperson for the Department of Ethics, stated that beauty parlors have been ordered to close based on directives from the Taliban leadership. A one-month deadline has been given to shut down the parlors.
It is evident that prior to this, the Taliban issued directives to close girls’ schools and imposed restrictions on women working. Additionally, public places for women, such as bathhouses, parks, and markets, have also faced restrictions. International organizations, including the United Nations, have strongly criticized these measures related to women implemented by the Taliban.
Last month, an incident occurred in the northern province of Sar-e Pol, where approximately 60 female students fell ill after being exposed to poisonous substances in their school.
According to Reuters news agency, the incident took place in the Sancharak district of Sar-e Pol province, where the affected students were immediately transferred to the hospital.
