Twitter has sent a legal threat to Meta, the parent company of Facebook, regarding their recently launched Threads app. Twitter’s lawyer claims that Meta has unlawfully utilized Twitter’s trade secrets and intellectual property by hiring ex-Twitter employees to develop a similar app.
Threads, created by Meta’s Instagram team, has gained considerable popularity since its launch, attracting millions of users. In response, Meta’s spokesperson, Andy Stone, has stated that none of the engineers working on the Threads app were former Twitter employees.
Although Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino has not made any public statements, analysts speculate that Threads could potentially challenge Twitter’s dominance in the social media market.
