Get ready to mark your calendars as the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has officially announced the Eid Al Adha holidays for the private sector. This special occasion will grant employees a four-day break to celebrate Arafat Day, the holiest day in Islam, and Eid Al Adha, also known as the festival of sacrifice.
According to the ministry, the holiday break will start on Tuesday, June 27, and continue until Friday, June 30 (corresponding to Dhul Hijjah 9 to 12 in the Islamic Hijri calendar). For those who have a Saturday-Sunday weekend, the break will extend to six days. Employees will be required to resume work on Monday, July 3.
This year, it will be the longest paid holiday, offering residents an excellent opportunity to relax and enjoy time with family and friends. Many individuals are even taking an additional day off on Monday, June 26, to extend their break to nine days.
It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia has already announced that Monday, June 19, marks the beginning of Dhul Hijjah. Arafat Day will be observed on Tuesday, June 27, and Eid Al Adha will begin on Wednesday, June 28.
