The UAE has pledged to speed up visa processing for Pakistani applicants by increasing staff to address delays. The commitment was made during a meeting between UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al Zaabi and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar, in Islamabad.
The discussion came amid reports of visa rejections making headlines. However, Pakistan has clarified that there are no bans on visas for its citizens. The UAE’s assurance aims to ease concerns and improve the experience for Pakistani travelers and workers applying for visas.
Another topic of concern was the issue of Pakistanis reportedly held in UAE jails, allegedly linked to illegal activities. However, no official confirmation has been provided regarding these claims.
In a separate meeting, Ishaq Dar also held talks with UK High Commissioner Jane Marriott. The two discussed ways to enhance bilateral relations and strengthen regional cooperation.
These meetings underline Pakistan’s efforts to address key diplomatic and consular matters, ensuring smoother processes for its citizens abroad while fostering stronger international ties.
