In Sharjah, some taxi drivers were recently recognized for their entire year of driving without any traffic fines or complaints. These “cab heroes” received up to Dh3,000 in recognition of their outstanding achievement.
The Traffic Safety Award, organized by Osool Transport Solutions and Sharjah Taxi, divided the winners into three categories: Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
To be eligible for this award, drivers had to meet certain requirements. One of them was driving over 100,000km in the past year. They also had to make sure they followed all traffic rules and kept their passengers satisfied, without any complaints.
Khaled Al Kindi, the general manager of Sharjah Taxi, explained that the award was meant to encourage safe driving practices and ultimately reduce traffic accidents. Additionally, it aimed to raise awareness about safe driving.
