In celebration of Pakistan’s 76th year of Independence, Dr. Riina Kionka, the European Union Ambassador, joined other musicians to pay a special tribute by performing a rendition of the national anthem ‘Pak Sarzamin’.
The European Union wished Pakistan ‘Happy Independence Day’ via their official X account by uploading the video meant to honor the country’s cultural diversity.
The video features artists representing all the provinces of Pakistan and playing various instruments including, Sulaeyman Khan (Balochistan) playing nylon guitar, Doulat Wali Baig (Gilgit Baltistan) playing sitar, Sameer Ahmed (Sindh) playing bass guitar, Salman Adil (Punjab) playing the flute, Sarmad Ghafoor (KPK) playing electronic keyboard and soundboard, Amna Nizami (Islamabad) playing electric guitar.
This unique way of paying tribute to Pakistan was put forward through a special campaign on the European Union’s social media channels. According to the news release, the EU is determined to respect human rights and promotes sustainable and inclusive growth for all citizens.
