WhatsApp, the world’s leading messaging app, has announced that it will stop supporting 35 mobile devices that run older versions of Google and Apple operating systems. This decision aims to ensure the app remains compatible with a broad range of smartphones, including those running Android, iOS, and various alternative operating systems.

The list of affected devices includes models from well-known manufacturers such as Samsung, Motorola, Huawei, Sony, LG, and Apple. This decision has surprised some users who continue to rely on these older devices to access WhatsApp.

Recommendations for Users

To continue using WhatsApp safely and without interruptions, the company recommends that users have a device running at least Android 5.0 or an iPhone with iOS 12 or later. Devices running older operating systems will no longer receive updates, making them vulnerable to security risks.

This announcement has drawn significant attention from users, especially those who have been using older devices for years. The decision to discontinue support is part of WhatsApp’s ongoing effort to improve user experience and maintain the security and functionality of the app.

By staying up-to-date with the latest operating systems, WhatsApp ensures that users can benefit from the latest features and security enhancements, making communication safer and more efficient.

This move highlights the importance of keeping software updated and reflects the broader trend in the tech industry to phase out support for older technologies in favor of newer, more secure options.
